Are gas prices rising again?

Today as I was passing by a gas station I noticed that my gas which was once at $2.70 A gallon has gone up to $3.15 a gallon and I start wondering why is it that at the hardest times gas prices decided to go up? So I do a little research and it's mostly for two reasons.

The first reason is pure business, the OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) which is comprised of Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela have not really been producing more oil since the 1980's so as the population goes up supply and demand takes in effect and prices go up.

The second reason is not so well knows, Oil is priced in U.S dollars so when our currency is doing well prices per barrel are cheaper to purchase but as our economy declines and the value of our dollar lowers then it makes oil cheaper for the rest of the world to buy.

So what happens when they do not produce more oil and other countries start using more oil than normal because it is cheaper? Gas Prices in the United States go up and I'm forced to pay more money per mile, so like a vicious cycle we work in order to have work so we can survive... we need a change and we needed it years ago.

Debt, how easy is it to get into it?

So today I received a letter in the mail saying I was approved for a credit card I applied for and it got me wondering how fast after getting it I would end up in debt? god forbid my limit is something like $2000 then for sure you can see me having epic nights and ending with a maxed out credit card. How do you stay responsible when managing credit?

So you got a DUI what's next?

It's obvious that when people drink at parties at one point or the other they have to drive home, most of the time the designated driver rule is ignored and that leaves you having to drive your drunk self x amount of blocks to get home. The best way to avoid a DUI is to not drink and drive but assuming you don't listen to the warning and make the countless mistakes that others do there is a way to help you avoid police while you are drunk and driving.

The most obvious way is to avoid driving recklessly, try to anticipate what a cop would be looking for, if going too fast and getting pulled over is bad then going too slow is an obvious sign that something is wrong with the person. Another good method is to plan the way home through the back skirts this helps by avoiding huge intersections where cops could be posting up waiting for someone to violate the law like a fisherman anticipating his catch. The downside to taking back skirts is that you waste more time in getting home but if you're gonna already make the mistake of driving while your drinking wouldn't you rather be safer and take your time in getting home?

Say you did get a DUI though, in Florida the laws about it are tough to deal with, I know a couple of people who are in that mess and let me tell you it's no joke. According to Florida Laws the Fine Schedule is as Follows:

First Conviction: Not less than $500, or more than $1,000. With Blood/Breath Alcohol Level (BAL) of .15 or higher or minor in the vehicle: Not less than $1,000, or more than $2,000.

Second Conviction: Not less than $1,000, or more than $2,000. With BAL of .15 or higher or minor in the vehicle: Not less than $2,000, or more than $4,000.
Third Conviction More than 10 years from second: Not less than $2,000, or more than $5,000. With BAL of .15 or higher or minor in the vehicle: Not less than $4,000.
Fourth or Subsequent Conviction: Not less than $2,000.

And as for jail time taken from "http://www.flhsmv.gov/ddl/duilaws.html"

Imprisonment- s. 316.193 (2)(a) 2, 4(b), (6)(j), F.S.

At court's discretion, sentencing terms may be served in a residential alcoholism or drug abuse treatment program, credited toward term of imprisonment.
First Conviction: Not more than 6 months. With BAL of .15 or higher or minor in the vehicle: Not more than 9 months.

Second Conviction: Not more than 9 months. With BAL of .15 or higher or minor in the vehicle: Not more than 12 months. If second conviction within 5 years, mandatory imprisonment of at least 10 days. At least 48 hours of confinement must be consecutive.

Third Conviction: If third conviction within 10 years, mandatory imprisonment of at least 30 days. At least 48 hours of confinement must be consecutive. If third conviction more than 10 years, imprisonment for not more than 12 months.

Fourth or Subsequent Conviction: Not more than 5 years or as provided in s.775.084, Florida Statutes, as habitual/violent offender.

Luckily all this can be avoided if you just play it safe and not drink at all, but if you do make sure you always have a lawyers number. In a country where reputation is everything (From credit history, to criminal records) a lawyer will be there to defend you all the time.

What would it take for you to feel like this?

I'll tell you what, the music and the smiley makes you think what kind of drugs these people were on when they made these sick beats, it also makes you think what kind of subculture exists out there, living in Miami and it being a big city where there's always a party scene I can tell you that Ecstasy is very popular. Kind of makes me wish they would come here and play Live.

What is it about music?

Have you ever felt, depressed, or happy, or mad and then just put on some music and instantly had your mood changed? What is it about music that makes us feel differently based on what we listen? I guess it must be the emotions we attach to said songs try to remember a song that makes you happy, for me one example could be Strawberry Fields Forever by the Beatles just because when I first heard that song I was with a group of friends and we where all having a great time it was back when a smile wasn't just for show when I actually felt truly happy so now every time I listen to the song it's like I relive a part of that experience.

So we're in a recession and you smoke cigarettes...

I used to be in the same shoes as yourself, if you're reading this and currently smoke cigarettes. With our unemployment rate rising by the hour and cigarette prices going up just as fast you have to ask yourself if it's worth smoking anymore. In the beginning of December I have started to quit smoking, not for health reasons (which should have been why) but for financial reasons, I could not afford to buy a pack of smokes everyday which ran me about $6 in Florida but I have seen it go up to $8-$10 in New York. Since quitting I have saved a total of $140 bucks and I have never felt better, my sense of smell has improved my teeth are no longer stained and I never smell like cigarettes anymore. I have to admit that quitting yielded the best results versus smoking.

In the end consider this, what does a cigarette relive? A friend of mine once told me "we only smoke cigarettes to relive the need of a cigarette, no other reason than that".

STATE VS COUNTRY, which has more power?

Today I was in my State and Local government class and a discussion on the State and Federal levels was had.
Normally we look at the Federal Level and picture them fixing on the problems, my question to you is how much do you know of your states government? Did you know that each state has their own constitution that is byfar longer than The United States constitution. Well they do and in it they cover everything that deals with the duties powers and structures of the State.

In addition, also realize that the state has more power than the federal government and instead of just voting for the president find some awareness in what Is happening in your state because truly the state's representatives are the only ones who will care about the place you're living in unless you live in Washington D.C in which case the national government is your concern.

Fringe will not die!

By some miracle of magic or science, Fox’s Fringe moved to Friday night and did not go down in the ratings.

The episode — titled “The Firefly” (nicely ironic considering the show’s move to Fox’s infamous Death Slot) — actually improved upon its most recent Thursday performance.

Fringe, which featured Christopher Lloyd as a guest star, delivered 4.9 million viewers and a 1.9 preliminary adults 18-49 rating last night. That’s right in line with its Thursday season average. Remember, Fox’s Kevin Reilly said if the show maintains its Thursday numbers on Friday, he’d renew it, so let’s hope the drama can keep this up. (Ken Tucker’s recap here).

The premiere of Kitchen Nightmares (4.3 million, 1.9) served up a solid lead-in for Fringe, and overall Fox was able to win the night. In fact, this was Fox’s highest-rated Friday with entertainment programs since 2008.

Fox was helped by CBS airing repeats at 9 and 10 p.m., but first the network aired the series finale of Medium, which posted a rather uneventful number (7.8 million, 1.6) for its last episode.

What does the word sorry really mean?

The definition of sorry is regretful: feeling or expressing regret or sorrow or a sense of loss over something done or undone, yet how many times do we take this word and use it for things that don't apply. Heres some food for thought, don't say sorry just don't do it at all. I am sure you have met those kinds of people that are doing something then they apologize and keep doing it then wonder if there apology really even means anything. People have forgotten what the true meaning of sorry really is.

Have you ever encountered one of these people?
How do you deal with the situation?

Rain Rain go away

What is it about rain that makes drivers so aggressive? Especially down here in Miami, Florida where the drivers are the worst in probably the entire country. On my way home I saw several serious car accidents with completely totalled cars and people everywhere furious because it was making their lives and inconvenience. What's your opinion on driving and weather, do you think it alters the way you drive like music does?

So you think you know blogs?

This perpetual loop of life is such as needing when you have no idea where kids sing on then you follow the white rabbit in your brand new bubble where galaxies merge with one another as you trancend into the backyard of an ant and find it to be looping just how is this perpetual loop neverending as the skies burn blue with the massive amount of oxygen your brain takes to process what goes on when doves fly into the willow and fear the sorrow of the everlasting tounges that seek to banish your sight.
